Kaiser Electric has been selected by the City of O'Fallon, IL as the electrical contractor on a $5.8 million project to build a firehouse and parks maintenance building in O'Fallon, IL.
With construction set to begin in December 2013 for both buildings, plans for the 16,465 sq. ft. firehouse at 1215 Taylor Road includes four truck bays, seven bunk rooms, a kitchen/dining room, fitness room, conference room and office space. The facility will function as a firehouse and EMS headquarters.
The 6,600-square-foot parks maintenance building, which will be located at 1205 Taylor Road, will include seven overhead doors leading to warehouse space for vehicle parking, a small tools storage room, two offices and a conference room.
Kaiser Electric crews will be responsible for electrical installation for power distribution and lighting throughout both facilities, plus installation of an emergency generator, fire alarm system, video intercom and access controls, video surveillance system and a tone alert system in the firehouse.
Construction of both facilities is expected to be completed in Oct. 2014. Holland Construction Services, Swansea, IL, is the construction manager on the project.
